Therapeutic Treatments for Opioid Abuse

Individuals who are struggling with addictions to opioids are invited to take part in the all-inclusive treatment available through Discovery House Comprehensive Treatment Center of Maine. Our comprehensive treatment approach provides patients with the opportunity to overcome both the physical and emotional components of an addiction, which dramatically increases the likelihood that lasting recovery will take place. The medication-assisted treatment component of our care provides patients with the option of incorporating specific prescription medications into their treatment that are specifically formulated to eliminate the physical symptoms associated with withdrawal. In addition to providing physical relief, these medications also provide patients with the mental clarity that is required in order to successfully progress in their treatment. In addition to medication-assisted treatment, patients are given the opportunity to utilize therapeutic interventions within their treatment as well. These sessions are designed to help patients address and process the underlying causes of their addictive behaviors which can assist them in appropriately preparing for a future that is substance-free.

Discovery House Comprehensive Treatment Center of Maine proudly offers patients the opportunity to incorporate the following therapeutic interventions into their comprehensive plans of treatment:

  • Group therapy
  • Individual therapy

Our Therapeutic Interventions

Therapeutic Interventions for Opioid Abuse

The team of counselors available at our centers understands the overwhelming challenges linked to the abuse of opioids. Specializing in the treatment of addiction, our team of counselors is available to assist patients as they successfully progress towards a life without opioid abuse. Individual sessions allow patients to work one-on-one with a counselor in order to address the underlying causes of their addictive behaviors. Once a patient understands why he or she turned to abuse opioids in the first place, successfully preparing for a future that is substance-free becomes a reality. Group therapy provides patients with the opportunity to come together with other individuals who are also receiving treatment for addiction to discuss a variety of counselor-led topics related to addiction and recovery. Patients who are given the opportunity to work alongside other individuals who are also progressing in treatment are able to receive support and encouragement from their peers. Both sessions are designed to assist patients in increasing the chances that lasting recovery will take place.
